This old house

The entry under this title could be pretty long, given all the things that happen over time to a house built in 1830.  So to be brief, I will just highlight the beam within one of the two posterior decorative columns, that continue the Greek Revival theme.  This beam is pretty rotten, and has taken some time to be addressed.  I am told that it will never be bearing any weight, so its complete replacement is not critical.  I am further assured that the moisture issues that created this rot have been addressed and further damage will not happen.
